Welcome to the website of National Chiao Tung University School of Law (NCTU Law).
NCTU Law is Taiwan’s leading law school focusing on interdisciplinary studies of law. By the QS World University Rankings in 2019, NCTU Law was ranked 100-150 in the world in the subject of law, and the 2nd in Taiwan.
NCTU Law began as the “Intellectual Property Management” Program in 1993, and as the Institute of Technology Law (ITL) in 2000. The ITL was transformed into the School of Law in 2015.
Ever since its creation, NCTU Law has stood by its strong dedications to the study of law and technology and interdisciplinary approaches to law. NCTU Law has annually held the “National Technology Law Conference” that has attracted hundreds of scholars and legal professionals, as well as business managers and government officials to join discussions on most updated law and technology issues as well as other related new developments.
NCTU Law offers pioneering interdisciplinary studies between law and economics, technology, medicine, and public health, and focuses on international and comparative law studies. We believe that our diverse course offerings enable our students to see different perspectives of law.
Here at NCTU Law, we are strongly committed to providing our students with an exceptional and intimate environment for learning. We make it our mission to prepare students for leadership roles in the rapidly evolving world. Our belief in diversity, responsibility and social awareness has driven us to reach beyond borders and collaborate with distinguished law schools from across the globe. We encourage students to continue their studies overseas.
Though relatively young, NCTU Law is one of the most sought-after resources by high-tech companies in Taiwan for talents in law and technology. As a leading institution in the study of law and technology and interdisciplinary legal studies, NCTU Law has been striving to reach excellence in higher legal education in Taiwan and beyond.
